Installation
Pump installed but it will not turn on
The DAB Evosta pump should always turn on when connected right. At least the LEDs in the display should light up.
If this is not happening, the cable was probably not connected right.
If the 3-phase wire is connected the right way (neutral, live wire and protective earth) and the pump is still not working, it could be possible that the three pins in the Evosta connector are bent. This prevents the completion of the electrical circuit.
Disconnect the cable from the power outlet and carefully try to bend straight the three pins inside the connector.
Positioning of the user interface
Positioning of the user interface in heating and domestic hot water systems
It is possible to position the user interface with the cable facing to the left, to the right, or downwards.
Positioning of the user interface
Positioning of the user interface in conditioning and cold water systems
The user interface can be positioned only with the cable facing downwards.
Rotating the user interface
Before rotating the circulator, ensure that it has been completely drained.
To rotate the EVOSTA2, EVOSTA3 circulator, proceed as follows:
1. Make sure the pump is not connected to a power outlet
2. Remove the 4 fixing screws of the circulator head.
3. Rotate the motor casing with the electronic control device through 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise, as necessary.
4. Reassemble and tighten the 4 screws that fix the circulator head.
Troubleshooting
Pump is making a grinding noise
A grinding noise will probably mean there is still air trapped inside the pump or the pipes.
The pump is vented automatically through the system. It is not necessary to vent the pump before starting. Noise may be created due to the presence of air in the pump; if this happens, the noise stops after a few minutes.
By selecting speed 3 for a short time, rapid venting of the pump is obtained. The venting speed depends on the dimensions and design of the system. Once the pump has been vented, or when the noise has stopped, set the pump according to the recommendations.
Clean water
Please note that a circulation pump should only be used with clean water (max. 30% glycol). Sand or other dirt will gather in the pump and will also cause a grinding noise. If this persists for too long, the pump might be damaged and will stop working eventually.
