Prepare import file for upsells

Upsells are products that are an alternative to the product you are looking at. Usually, upsells have a higher product price than the product you're looking at, and this section can be used to force your visitor to a higher average order value.

This document shows you how to prepare an import file to add upsell products to a product page.

Please see the attachment for a reference file you can use to create your import file.

• Column A

  • You can fill this column with EAN codes of the products where you would like to add upsells to

• Column B

  • A comma-separated list of EAN codes of the upsell products, that you would like to add to the product in column A

• Column C

  • A comma-separated list of positions of the sort order of the upsells you have mentioned in column B.

    • Normally you take the sort order in account already when you are selecting the upsells

    • When there are 4 upsell-products, you can enter 1,2,3,4 in this field

    • If there are 2 upsell-products, you can enter 1,2

    • If there is 1 upsell-product, you can enter 1

How to determine which upsells you are going to add?

Please keep the following in mind when selecting the right upsells:

• Look for similar products with a higher product price

• Look for similar products of a brand of a higher quality than the product itself

• Look for similar products based on specifications, like capacity / pressure

• Look especially for products that are positioned in the main categories
