Most of our products are in stock. The only exception is specific Dab pumps (a Dab order)
In Magento, it is not possible to add an order for a product that is out of stock. A message will appear to indicate that it is not available.
On our shops, it is therefor also not possible to order a product that is out of stock.
A backorder is a product that is out of stock.
It does happen that a customer orders a product in a shop which it is not in stock at Monta. E.g. due to a difference in stock, because several customers ordered the same article at the same time or because the article is part of a package

In above image, you see the expected delivery date. This date is updated by Stefano/Riccardo and is based on information from the manufacturer.
The customer can click on Keep me posted so he will receive an automatic email when the product is back in stock.

The order status in Magento will remain on Processing, in Monta you will see Backorder (red on top and on product level).
These orders are monitored by Stefano/Riccardo. They will add a date in the Reference field which can be communicated to the customer.
The colleague who has the Backorder task (see Task Overview), will get in contact with the customer to inform him about the delay and possible options (e.g. shipping a part of the order, changing product or just wait)
